a frog
a tree frog on a bed of leaves.
this page originally had a mess of god-awful doodles on it, drawn while waiting for a computer to right itself and while waiting for pdfs to be made. usually i leave even the most beastly of drawn things and painted things -- after all, that's how you learn, right? -- but the doodles were so awful that they needed someone to annihilate them. i obliged. the background is made of layers and layers of gouache that took hours to dry (and gouache lifts pretty easily on paper), and on top of that, pentel pigment black and light black, and bits of watercolor on the leaves.
the frog is much better than the doodles.
materials:
gouache, ink, and watercolor on rives bfk.
