more brushes

i've got an awful lot of brushes, but find i only use a handful at any given period of time, though these choices seem to change pretty regularly. for the longest time i loved working with kolinsky brushes, then another stretch with squirrel mops, then synthetics. these days, i'm still using synthetics, but the stiffer kind that picks up a lot more paint. so many of my brushes, even the travel brushes, are suffering a bit of neglect lately.

they make obedient subjects for painting, though.

also finished the rives bfk pamphlet book for the midori traveler's notebook, and spent the day tearing and sewing new books using other sheets from recent buys. the magnani pescia seems to run grain long, and because i'm a dolt when it comes to dimensions and packaging and things like that, a few sheets were folded grain short. so some spreads now have ugly cracks. oh well. this little painting was done on some scrap paper left over from the large 22x30 sheet.

materials:
ink and watercolor on 300g magnani pescia blue paper.
