Pentel Pocket Brush
by far my favorite thing in my portable sketching gear is the pentel pocket brush. i can refill the plastic cartridge with carbon black ink (via syringe), and achieve a decent line variation with its synthetic brush. of course, this shouldn't take the place of your real brushes, but for sketching en plein air, it's pretty much the perfect companion.
