Supplies
i'm fascinated by art supplies. i can't get enough of them, and plenty is never enough. i have one abiding rule, though, when it comes to the accumulation of art supplies, even if it's not always applicable: use them at least once, and if you don't like them, either sell them or give them away to someone who will appreciate them more than you will.
supplies are meant to be used, after all.
and so! here are a few of my favorite things. the list may change now and then; manufacturers of fine art supplies are always releasing interesting new products, so i like to try them when i get a chance.
fountain pens
platinum black carbon ink
pencils, sharpener, kneaded eraser, plastic eraser
watercolors
pentel pocket brush
real brushes and brush cleaner
one more thing...
these are just the supplies that i found work best for the way i paint and draw. they may not work for you, so take them with a grain of salt. try them out if you get a chance and see if they'll work for you too. i'm not a professional illustrator or artist, but i am a very serious, passionate hobbyist. any time off from my day job is the time i spend painting and drawing.
